luckily nothing was stolen (my gps unit was right in the arm rest). just one more reason i hate where i live and will be moving this fall at the end of my lease. apparently there have been a rash of “smash and runs” in my neighborhood this past weekend. the fuckers.
i take the car into the glass place tomorrow at 8am to get the replacement window.

I am so relieved that your electronics, car stereo, CDs, iPod, etc were all intact and unstolenified.
Looking back now, I wonder if it would have been cheaper to park at the airport during your trip? (just kidding)

If this happened in Boston in the summer, I would have said it was just Red Sox fans showing their famous high spirits. As it is, it looks like it was just some asshole vandalizing for the hell of it. People can be such shitbags!

ugh. god that sucks. I had some junkie in LA do $800 damage to one of my past cars to steal a cheap jacket and the factory am/fm radio (no tape player, even) out of the trunk where I’d tossed it after putting in a new one, which wasn’t touched. that was like 15 years ago and I’m still paranoid about leaving anything, even loose change, visible inside.
where in Minne do you live? never had any trouble there or in St Paul.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about this. There’s nothing worse than the feeling of personal violation. Happy to hear you’re getting out of that place! Hugs

Doesn’t that just gripe your ass? So sorry. If you were stranded inside you wouldn’t be able to break the damn glass. Where are the witnesses? Where’s all the cell phone photographers when you really need one? Geezzzzzzzzzzzzz

This same thing happened to me… about 10 years ago. At the time, I had just moved to Cincinnati and I had JUST come out. I was doing something VERY new to me.. I had met a hot guy on this young new site called “gay.com” and I drove over to his pad in a neighborhood that I was not familiar with. The guy ended up being built like a brickshithouse, amongst other very good attributes…
(Clearing throat) Afterward. I came back to my car and the back window had been busted out. On top of the glass was a book “The History of Music” that I had borrowed from a friend. Apparently the book had enticed them but they threw it back into the car. Apparently, they weren’t into music history. Nothing else in the car had been touched…
